7.75” tall by 13.5” diameter. One of the longer growing maple species, Big Leaf Maple can grow to over 100’ tall and live over 300 years. It is the only commercially viable western species of maple used in furniture and cabinet making. The Burls from this species are especially prized by furniture makers and woodturners.  This piece has spectacular burl figure and my signature “stiching”, where I introduce short pieces of branches into natural voids in the form. The branches in this piece are from an American red cedar tree. This piece is perfect in every regard. Part of the Blue Series. I missed it, here,… it should have been in the black series.
