8” tall by 15” diameter. This piece has nice spalting and a wonderful shape. I love the rim of this piece as well. I intentionally bleached this wood to keep a lighter color so that the spalting and graining of this piece could be seen better.  Spalting is part of the decay process that happens most often when the tree is already on the ground and has been colonized by devouring fungal colonies that will return a tree to the dirt from which it came in just a few years. The random lines you see are mineral deposits left by these fungal colonies.
