3” tall by 5” diameter

This form is from a species of wood commonly known as Box elder. It often presents specular red hues when the tree is in distress, usually from insect invasion. The tree produces a chemical to drive out the infestation and that chemical turns red inside the wood. This form has some of those red hues but not in an overpowering way, but so as to briefly accent the blond colored piece.
