This is an interesting species of tree with almost every part of the tree having medicinal, culinary, and aromatic uses. Every part of this tree smells good and it is enjoyable to work with. This piece was saved from a firewood pile at an elderly man’s homestead in the mountains of northeast Georgia. This piece has an older “spitoon” shape and I always enjoying using this shape with different species of wood.
